I started walking with
a person who has lost so much in her life. I started blessing
her with good thoughts, thoughts of hope for her future,
encouragements for what she is already doing, lifting her up in every
moment I was able. I bought her some roses and made her feel special
after she had been beaten in a recent marriage.
I walk with her Monday
through Friday and although it is trying to hear the same thoughts of
hopelessness, I usually edge something in there like she will
live and not die, she will get a job, she will eat right, she will get
some sleep, she will have some balance. For about a year, I gave her
some of my lunch.
She knows I care. I invited her to come out to my
house. She wanted some exercise by doing some yard work.
Every time I want to
complain about something, I start to bless that person or thing or
increase the person in some way. Every time, I begin to get negative,
I see a new light on that subject. There are so many discouraged,
lonely, and sad people in our day. I pray that we can all be like
Joshua
and Caleb, taking the land with new vision.
The principle of sowing
and reaping is so wonderful. Now that I know the secret of blessing
and not cursing, I pray that I will always take the opportunity to
bless and not curse. And you know what? I am
starting to hear the blessing as I speak it over others and so I am
blessed.
